The Constituent Parts of the Constitution constitutes the legal system of a country. These constituent parts are divided into two sections: political system and judicial system. Under political system, there are the legislative powers, executive and judicial power, and the freedom of citizens to govern themselves. The legislative body of a country comprises the members of the legislature elected by the people through an election. The executive power is constituted by the government head appointed by the president and ministers are appointed by the prime minister. The judicial system includes the courts, magistrates, solicitors, attorneys, bailiffs, etc., who administer justice in the country.

All the powers bestowed on the constitution by the constitution are not necessarily reciprocal. For example, the legislature may restrict the rights of citizens on issues that concern the administration of justice apart from curtailing the freedom of speech, press, and association. The government may not limit the freedom of education, but it can limit the freedom of religion and establish a national religion. Thus, in all, the constitution can restrict certain fundamental rights.

There are two legal systems which constitute the criminal justice system. Criminal law involves the punishments imposed on the guilty person for crimes. Before adopting a law, the legislature must consider any objections or impediments that may be raised. The criminal justice system is subdivided into two branches - criminal justice system and civil law. Civil law deals with disputes between private parties and the criminal justice system deals with crimes against state organs. The criminal justice system also includes sub-branches like public law, the trial court, appeals court, felony, misdemeanor, probate, corporate law and public defense.

There are two prominent systems of private law - Common law and statutory law. Common law is basically the body of law adopted by common law courts of the earlier period and superseded by newer systems including common law courts of the modern period and proprietary courts. Statutory law is new and evolved law introduced by statute in response to changing social conditions. Under this system persons may choose their attorneys and transact business even though the attorney is an employee of state.

How to protect your legal rights? You have to be vigilant about the misuse of power. Every citizen has legal rights, but sometimes these rights are misused for reasons of greed or other bad intentions.
